Top Gun 3 Is Still A Long Ways Off, Producer Reveals

A third installment in the Top Gun franchise is in development, but fans will have to wait some time for its release. Producer Jerry Bruckheimer told Deadline that while "we've got some interesting ideas we've talked to Tom Cruise about… we don't have a script yet. It will be a while."Bruckheimer previously shared in May with The Hollywood Reporter that a promising story is in the works. "I think we have a terrific story," Bruckheimer said. "It's just [a question of] how do we get everybody together and how do we get it done. Tom's very busy. He's got a lot of movies lined up, and he's a very in-demand actor.
